Arpico 100% Natural Ecogreen Latex mattresses
Natures gift – more comfort, more support
Arpico’s latex mattresses are manufactured using the most modern methods of production, allowing air vents, or pin holes, set at regular intervals to be incorporated into our designs. This allows optimum airflow and maximum heat transfer which lead to even deeper, more comfortable sleep.
Prior to advancements in latex manufacture, latex mattresses were produced in a solid slab with a shiny surface or ‘skin’ that didn’t ‘breathe’ or ventilate. This led to latex getting a name for retaining heat. Times have changed, and we are out of the 1970’s and into the 2000’s and with today’s production methods today’s latex bedding has been proven to be cooler than the majority of other popular bedding materials.
Latex made purely from the natural milk (sap) of the tropical rubber tree is processed with a low carbon footprint into foam blocks for bedding. Latex foam is different to normal P.U. foam, with latex known for its ‘open cell structure’ which under a microscope has a roughened surface, like cut bread. This creates a larger surface area, allowing warm air to be replaced with fresh, cooler air.
The mattress cover itself plays a crucial role in the feel and temperature of your Arpico mattress. The secret – low profile covers which are as natural as possible. Avoid covers that are thick and shiny as the filler user in mattress covers is the same as used for cushions and toys – it is 100% synthetic and doesn’t breathe. The fluffier the cover, the hotter, as it also obstructs airflow from the mattress itself.
When you choose an Arpico mattress you can rest assured knowing your sleeping on Internationally certified pure natural latex. If it’s not certified by LGA and ECO institutes, it may well not be the real deal.
